Hiring a virtual assistant can be a total game changer for your business. Like, a totally great idea. But here’s the trick – how do you know you’re hiring the right person for the job? The purpose of a VA is to support your business and help you manage alllll of your daily tasks. It can be so overwhelming, right?! That’s why you need to make sure you’re asking effective questions. We want real insight, not just fluff.
With that in mind, I’m going to give you a list of AWESOME questions that dig deep. So, next time you’re looking for a VA, whip this baby out. Feel free to add any additional questions that you can think of, of course.

- What has your experience been like working as a VA?
- How many clients are you currently working with?
- How many hours per week/month do you have available to dedicate to my business?
- Do you have a preferred work schedule?
- What essential skills or traits do you possess?
- What is your area of expertise? Why do you stand out?
- Why did you decide to become a virtual assistant? What are your core values?
- You have a deadline today, but your laptop crashed. What do you do?
- What are your long-term goals?
Okay guys. Now that you’ve seen the questions, I want to touch on WHY they’re important to ask potential hires.
First of all, you’ve gotta ask questions that give you basic information. How long they’ve been working as a VA, what their experience is like, and if they have the time available to get sh*t done for your business.
Cool. After you get those answers, then you can move on to questions that require a little more thinking. These are the questions that tell you a lot about the person you’re interviewing. Definitely pay attention to their core values – if they align with yours, you’re golden! And, make sure to note if any responses seem like a red flag. If they do, listen to your gut! It’s probably telling you that’s not the right person to hire for your business. Trust yourself and trust the process, friends.
